Grass Jelly, also known as leaf jelly, is a semi-sweet, translucent black dessert made by boiling the aged stalks and leaves of the Mesona Chinensis plant. Now available in a convenient liquid form, it allows for quick preparation of grass jelly to serve as a dessert, drink topping, or on its own, whether hot or cold!

Grass Jelly Topping Recipe (Commercial Use)

Ingredients:

  • 3kg Grass Jelly syrup
  • 9000ml water
  • 160g Tapioca starch

How to Prepare Grass Jelly Topping:

  1. In a large pot, combine the 3kg Grass Jelly syrup with 8000ml of water. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly.
  2. Add 900g of sugar (or adjust to taste) to the boiling mixture.
  3. Slowly incorporate the tapioca starch mixture into the boiling grass jelly mixture, stirring well.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool completely and refrigerate until it sets into a jelly form.

Tips:

  • Serve hot by skipping the refrigeration step.
  • Suggested topping portion: As much as you like!
  • Consume within 4 days and refrigerate. Do not freeze.
